Description: GIS Data Model developed by the National Recreation & Parks Association (NRPA).Name:May consist of 1 or more polygonal features ("tracts") that make up a particular park. To determine how many parks Travis County eithers owns or manages, one could Summarize this field or the ParkID field, which uniquely identifies individual parks.Park Tract Name: The Travis_County_Parks feature class consists of polygonal features, "Tracts", that make up any particular park. 1 park can consist of 1 or more tracts. The last 4 digits of the Tract Name coincide with the last 4 digits of the deed/document linked to the acquisition of the land. The Tract_ID field uniquely identifies each tract making up the Travis County park system. LCRA owned parks are divided into land & water tracts.Year Open: Year park opened to the public. "9999" in this field represents a park/tract that is not open to the public. Null values indicate the year is unknown. The date the land was acquired can be found under the AQUIS_DATE field.Park Status: (NRPA field) This field indicates the current physical state of the property.OpenPark is open to the public, free of chargeOpen_FeePark is open to the public, day use fee is requiredOpen_RestrictedPark is open to the public, but access is restricted – ex by membership, permit or reservationClosedPark exists but is not open to the publicDecommissionedFormerly a park, turned over to another jurisdiction, generally these properties are still managed as park landPlannedPark planned for the futureProposedPark land acquired waiting to be plannedUnknownStatus of the property unknownPark Type: 7 predefined types created & defined by TNR. Based on Service Area (as defined by the NRPA GIS data model), Size, & in 3 cases Purpose. Service Area takes precedence over size.Neighborhood Park: 0-5 miles*/ 10 min*/ 20 - 200 - 100 miles/ 2-6 hrs/ > 1000 acresPreserve:Purpose = preserveConnector:Purpose = connector. These tracts make up the individual Greenway/ Corridor Parks. Non-Park Flood Mitigation Lands:Purpose = flood mitigation lands. None of these should actually be considered a "park", as there is never an intention to have these lands open to the public. However, acreage of this type of land should be included in calculations of parkland or land that Travis County Parks owns or manages.Service Area: Planned Service Area, or the radius from within which a majority of the visitors travel to the site. Travis County Transportation & Natural Resources Dept. made adjustments to the NRPA GIS data model schema to suit its own needs.
