The NRPA GIS Data Model was developed for jurisdictions to be able to inventory lands and assets that they own, plan, manage, operate and maintain. By providing standard attributes and values, the GIS Model makes it possible for better local, regional, and statewide management and planning of park and recreation resources. In 2013, Travis County Transportation & Natural Resources Dept. adopted (& subsequently modified) the NRPA Model.
